Thompson cigar was founded in 1915 in Florida and is the oldest mail order cigar company in the United States of America. VSOP cigars are Thompson exclusives which are manufactured in the Dominican Republic. The VSOP cigars are made with Dominican fillers and they have a binder with an Indonesian wrapper. After harvesting, the leaves are cured; transforming the tobacco's chlorophyll into starches. They chose the technique of slow-drying the leaves in a climate controlled barn with the desired result of preserving the essence of the leaf. This process is slow and the curing and drying of the leaves takes time. VSOP stands for very superior old pale. This means that the cigars are of very high quality and are aged a minimum of 6 tears before they are put on the market. This alone can explain why they are well sought after. These cigars cannot be classified as too heavy or too light. They are even ideal for the novice. |

The differences between the different blends are in the area of shape, length and gauge size. This brand is a bit cheaper than what you would pay for a cigar with a more popular band. With the prices being so affordable, they are worth it. Overall, the VSOP cigar is usually the one cigar that specializes in being the most convenient king of cigar.
